East Coast Summer Tour?

Alright now I'm pretty comfortable with announcing that in early August we will be sharing the road along the east coast with Canada's xEnvisionx!

Great band, great dudes and we're excited to be hitting up the east coast with them all the way down to Florida! Once we have more dates confirmed, I'll most likely post the tour dates here, but for now just keep your eyes peeled! If you can help in your area feel free to contact us we might be able to work something out as well!

And if you haven't checked out Envision, you're missing out!

Outlast - New Jersey Straight Edge

New Jersey's Outlast has finally gotten their act together and posted a demo, and man was it worth the wait. A youth crew inspired band from New Jersey with band influences like Our Turn, In My Eyes, and Gorilla Biscuits, this band's demo is truly a great thing to come out this year.

It is available for download here:http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bi3nmwkdmyn

Sharing members from Petition (also a sweet band) this band is actually taking flight this summer and playing a bunch of places along the eastcoast so definitely catch them when they're around your area! I'm hoping Alert will have the opportunity to play with this band sometime this year and I'm convinced it'll happen.

So check out Outlast and a bunch of other cool bands raging out this year: Face Reality, Resolve, Overload, Gone But Not Forgotten. Peace.

It's been a while so here's an update

Yeah I admit I haven't really updated everyone on anything so here we go:

First off, regarding the 7", the test presses are in and have been approved. Dan and Life To Lives is really stoked on the release and got a bunch of shirts ordered to go with the first 50 pre-orders, so keep on top of that! When are pre-orders going up you ask? Well the cover artwork is being worked on right now and should be done really soon. Expect pre-orders to go up as soon as the artwork comes in! Pressing info is as follows: 100 on red (pre-order color), 200 on clear, and 200 on black.

Secondly, we are recording again May 23rd for a bunch of things so keep an ear out! So far it might be 4 or 5 new songs and a couple re-recorded so we're pretty stoked about that. We have plans for an EP in the fall but I'll let you know more about that a little later on.

As for shows and summer plans? Well we just came back from Ohio playing this show:

Yes, this show was awesome and we were glad we got to play this. Special thanks to Jordan from Overload for filling in on drums for us! This show was absolutely amazing!

We are actually heading back to Cleveland in late June for Overload's record release so that should be a lot of fun! As for summer? Well Canada's Envision (www.myspace.com/xenvisionx) contacted us a few months ago about touring in the summer so an east coast tour down to Florida is in the works with them! I'll give more information on that as more dates get booked.

I think I covered everything pretty much. Stay posted for more updates and thanks for the support!

Alert Demo 7"?

A while ago we were contacted by an awesome dude named Dan who was working on a label called Life To Live records. He asked us if we were interested in working with him to release some music of ours and we gladly accepted! He told us he was working on a band called Control from Washington DC (www.myspace.com/controldchc) and that he'd work with us afterwards.

Well now it's afterwards and our demo, previously released on tape but now sold out, will be pressed as a 7" into 500 records; 100 red,  200 clear, and 200 black (though the final decision on colors hasn't been decided just yet). We have Jay Jacoby working once again with us to design the cover right now and Tim McCauliffe working on the design and layout because both those dudes are awesome!

I can't say for sure when these will be out, but I can say it'll be before summer time! Keep posted!

Overload // Alert Weekend: Day 3

So here's day 3. I know I'm really detailed as I type about everything that happened, but that's just the way I am. Love descriptions to the minor detail and I'm trying my hardest not to be so bad with it, so I apologize if I'm giving too much info. Well here it goes...

We woke up either 7 or 8 I don't remember, but I remember us thinking something would be wrong with the van. Either shit stolen, or a ticket for parking wrong on the street, but we were alright. We headed to a gas station and filled up for the long journey to Brooklyn, which wasn't too far actually. The drive was pretty quick and nothing really special or out of the ordinary happened on the way there. We arrived in Brooklyn, which was confusing as hell, but Kyle's GPS saved us from hours of confusion and we eventually arrived at the place. The door to get it had some weird lock, so I had to call Matt (the promoter) for it.

The Revenge dudes pulled up behind. Revenge and Turn It Up! were added last minute since Right Idea and Face Reality couldn't make it. Thanks to both bands for playing on such short notice. Anyway, we all entered the Stolen Sleeves collective. I loved the place a lot. It had a very punk, but artsy feel to it as the hallways were filled with graffiti and drawings. The place was like a series of apartments and we'd be playing in one of them. The dude(ette)s who lived there were very cool, though I don't think they really knew this show was happening. Not really sure what happened communication-wise between them and the promoter, but all went well. We left for a while to get food because Turn It Up!, Overload, and Mindset weren't there yet. Me and Mike ate at a vegan chinese restaurant about 10 minutes away called Wild Ginger, and I had the luxury of eating vegan General Tso's chicken for the 2nd time and it was delicious. Everyone else ate at a Subway across the street. Overload called and ate nearby as well, but we really hadn't met up.

Anyway, we headed back to the venue to be greeted by the Mindset dudes. Soon after that all the bands seemed to be there and we began to set up. The actual venue was an apartment that was built very oddly, but was cool nonetheless. You'd walk up stairs and there was a "hole" were you can see the downstairs room where everyone would play. Very tight and small, but a nice cool place to have shows.

Turn It Up! went on first. They were a pop punk-ish kind of band and they were pretty good and did an amazing cover of Fugazi's Waiting Room. Nicest guys ever, too. Then Revenge went on. The mic kept going in and out, but their set was awesome. Then Alert went on. We did pretty well I suppose, and there was some singing to the Youth Of Today covers we did. Then Overload went on and their set was great. Mindset went on last and they were great as always. The turnout wasn't so big altogether, but it was still a really good time. The show started a little before 4 and ended at 6:30ish maybe so we had more than enough time to get home at a reasonable time. Overload had about 9 hours to look forward to. We took some group pictures, said our goodbyes, and that ended the crucial Alert / Overload weekend 2009.

Overload are the nicest guys, great band, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to hang out/play shows with them.

That is all! Hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed typing it all!
